2. Answer the following question: What minerals are in this area and why is it important to have these resources?

Iron ore is found mainly in China, but it is also found in North Korea, Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia, and The Philippines. Gems are very plentiful in this region and are found in Myanmar, Thailand, and Cambodia. Pearls are found in Japan and The Philippines. Teak is used to make buildings and ships because it is very durable, this is found in the region’s forest. Mahogany is also used to make paneling and furniture.
