  1. China, the Korean Peninsula, and Japan all have humid continental climates. The summers are warm here and the winters are cold. The average temperature in August on Hokkaido, the northernmost island of Japan, is 70 degrees F, and the average temperature in January is on 16 degrees F. Snow often covers this island between the months of November and April. The rest of East Asia has a humid subtropical climate; this climate is similar to the climate in the southeastern United States. The summer climates are slightly warmer than in the humid continental climates, and the winters here are slightly warmer too.

I would compare the climates of this region to my climate region as slightly different. I think we have warmer summers than this climate region. The winters here are also warmer than they are in this region. I think that the winters are very similar, because our climate zone usually has snowy winters too. Our summers are similar in the way that the climate zone there is hot and we usually have warmer summers too.
